ukcb.y2j.co.uk used to be an access point onto ukchatterbox when their front end website was down, enabling users to still access the back end chat systems, which during 2012 was frequent. In 2013, ukcb started displaying on their domains:
“UK Chatterbox Chat Rooms
We will be back soon! Don’t worry UKCB hasn’t gone for good. ”
At the time of writing, oct 2013, they have not returned.
Because ukcb.y2j.co.uk was only an alternative access route, we have no control over their web/chat services etc, so a decision was made to code up an alternative to ukcb from scratch.
HOWEVER, this is not possible at the moment due to a number of limiting factors:
The main one’s being:
We have moved to a property that does not have and does not allow the installation of phonelines/broadband lines etc, so access is via 3g mobile services, which is far too expensive to maintain 24/7 at the data levels required.
Working commitments mean limited time to code up a replacement website, 62hr/6 day’s a week at the moment and my partner and I are expecting a baby in Jan 2014…
This does not mean the end though… little bits of code are being hashed together as and when there are 5 mins….
UKCB may be dead, but an alternative is coming… slowly buh surely
